Custom 3D printed parts for the Main NAS

When the part doesn’t exist, you build the part.

1. Context

This is a starter build-log post. It will become a practical write-up with designs, measurements, and before/after thermals.

Project: Main NAS

2. Phases

1

Find the friction

Where does airflow stall? What’s awkward to service? What’s noisy for no reason?

2

Design the part

Simple geometry first. Make it printable, serviceable, and reversible.

3

Print + test

Prototype fast, then validate with real measurements.

4

Document

So future-me doesn’t have to rediscover it at 2am.

3. Inspiration

This project is strongly influenced by the “Velocity Stack Vault” build-log style: problem → engineered solution → result.
